Refunds and cancellations
Rules for deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds on career consultations.
Scope
This policy applies to paid consultations arranged with Machine Intelligence — including the Long-Term Career Path Consultation and single sessions such as recognition guidance, sector briefings, and plan reviews. This site does not sell physical products or digital subscriptions.
Eligibility
Full refunds are available if you cancel a paid booking at least five business days before the first scheduled session and no substantial preparatory work (document review beyond a brief skim) has begun. Partial refunds may apply when part of a multi-session path has already been delivered.
Timeframe to request
Refund requests should be emailed to info@machine-intelligence.digital within fourteen days of the event that triggers the request (cancellation, service issue, or missed session dispute).
Full and partial refunds
- Full refund: Cancellation ≥ five business days before session one; deposit returned minus any non-recoverable third-party booking costs if explicitly agreed in writing.
- Partial refund: For a three-session path, unused sessions after session one may be refunded at 70% of the unused session value if cancelled ≥ three business days before the next session.
- No refund: Sessions already held; written outlines or annotations already delivered; cancellations inside the notice window without rescheduling agreement.
Non-refundable items
Completed live consultation time, delivered written career outlines, follow-up annotations, and administrative fees disclosed in your booking email are non-refundable once delivered.
Deposits
A deposit may be required to reserve a multi-session path. Deposits are applied to the final fee. They are refundable under the full-refund rules above; otherwise they are retained against preparation time.
Rescheduling and no-shows
You may reschedule once without fee if you give at least two business days’ notice. Later changes may incur a €40 administrative fee. No-shows without notice forfeit that session’s fee. We will attempt one courtesy reschedule when illness is documented promptly.
Work already started
If we have reviewed your documents before session one and you cancel inside the five-day window, we may deduct a preparation fee proportional to time spent (quoted in your confirmation email, typically €40–€90) from any refund.
Refund process and method
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within fourteen business days of approval. Bank transfer refunds may take longer depending on your bank. You will receive email confirmation when the refund is initiated.
Exceptions
If we cancel a session and cannot offer a suitable alternative within a reasonable time, you may choose a full refund for the unused portion. Statutory consumer rights under German law remain unaffected where they apply.
